You can purchase 3/16" front strut flanges which can be used to fabricate your front strut lift blocks. Business has been quite busy, but not necessarily with parts, more so with consulting. I've been busy doing solid modeling for an excellent up and coming business called Conveyors Plus ++ ltd. You can visit them at www.conveyorsplus.ca If anyone is in the aggregate or mining business and has a conveyor, you need to see what they can do for you.

On the NX4 Industries parts side, we have designed a new skid plate, soon to be released for 96-99.5 and 00-04 Pathfinders. I have also received a request to fab up rear spacers, so they will also be available in the next couple of weeks.

Shop re-organization

So I spent the weekend away from the computer in order to re-organize the shop, fabricate a few parts and make preparations for the powder coating station. At last I think I have made it a functional work area and will be getting back to everyone who has requested information on products. I feel terrible when people inquire and I'm unable to reply within 6-12 hours. So my apologies to everyone.

On the plus side, powder coating is going to be offered within a week or so. Just need to figure out my pricing, which as with all my offerings will be competitive!

I've also made up some lower brackets with studs for the strut spacers. These will eliminate the need for threaded spacers and permit the installation of the spacer with ease, just as if it were from the factory. Check out our parts page for details.

I'm also working on setting up online commerce to eliminate the wait times for people who want to order parts immediately. Keep checking back often for updates!

Regards,

Jeff Rimmer CET

P.S. I came across a beautiful Suzuki SJ413, and it was impecable! Not a spot of rust on it. Almost show room condition. I was very tempted to leave the chap a note in case he had the notion to sell. I had forgotten just how small the old beast was, and oddly I now find my R50's small!

In the beginning...

As an introductory blog post, I suppose that a brief introduction to my passion for off-road is warranted.

As long as I can remember, I've had a natural propensity to be enthralled by motive power, be it motorbikes, snowmobiles, cars, trucks, trains or planes. Even playing with lego's I would create cars, trucks etc (what great creative toys Legos are!). As a young child, my father purchased a Suzuki SJ410. This lightweight brute took us through many mud & water holes, skidder roads and old cutting roads to get us to great fishing spots. But what I always enjoyed was the anticipation of not knowing if you would arrive at your destination, which it didn't do the odd time, resulting in mile long walks. Did I learn something from all this? You bet! Always carry extraction equipment!

As we retired the SJ410, we acquired an 86 Samurai, which served us in the same manner as the previous Suzuki, which I would soon after inherit as my first vehicle. With over 350K, a cracked piston and fist sized holes in the rear quarters, I set out to rebuild the mini truck. This is where my passion began to unfold. I designed and built a spring over axle lift (SPOA), had springs made locally, created my own steering setup along with custom shackles. Overall the truck had 8" of lift, a little excessive, but water would never be an issue again.

The truck body was repaired, and paint was applied by a good friend of mine, and off I went to college (finally finished assembling the body parts after paint at 4 a.m., departed for college at 8 a.m.). After driving the truck for a year in Southern Ontario, its impracticality was evident as the lower gears, which provided excellent prowess off-road, provided highway top speeds that seemed to anger most other travellers.

I would later hit black ice, with worn tires, and roll the black beast 4 times down an embankment, thus ending the Suzuki fun. After selling off all three spare engines, various transmissions, gears, t-cases etc, I purchased a 92 Nissan 240sx, then a 91, then inherited an 89 coupe. At long last, the call of off-roading and SUV's hit again and our 01 LE Pathfinder was purchased. Shortly thereafter, the 240sx's would be sold and a 97 Pathfinder purchased as a replacement.

Now comes the fun part... or does it... No after market support existed! So, spawns the dream. After finding only springs for lift accessories, I decided to probe the market. Small at best, the market has strong support of avid off-road enthusiasts who are passionate about their niche vehicle. I began to disassemble and design my lift.

Now, NX4 Industries will begin to sell those various components, and the platform offerings will also be expanded over time. With the support of my wife and family, this hobby turned small business will grow.

Thanks to the support of fellow Nissan and Suzuki enthusiasts, your voice drives our innovation.
